Amarillo Police Investigating Early Saturday Morning Shooting

AMARILLO -- Early Saturday morning, Amarillo Police responded to a report of shots fired in the 800 block of N Washington.
When officers arrived, they found a 19-year-old in the street with three gunshot wounds to the stomach area. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
There were several people in the area; however no one could give officers details of what might have occurred. The victim was also unable to give any details to who the suspect may have been.
Officers did locate 3 shell casings, a pocket knife and a small amount of marijuana near the scene and these items were taken and booked as evidence.
The victim remains hospitalized with life threatening injuries.
