AMARILLO – At 1:58 p.m., Amarillo Police were called to a reported shooting in the 1400 block of N Johnson.
When officers arrived, they found a 17-year-old with a gunshot wound to the chest.
According to the victim and two witnesses, they were walking down NE 15th when they heard a pop and the victim felt something strike his chest. The victim suffered a grazing gunshot wound to the chest.
They advised officers they did not see anyone or any vehicles nearby when this occurred.
Officers were unable to locate any crime scene or other evidence of a shooting.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for his injuries. The incident remains under investigation.
