By Karl Wehmhoener | firstname.lastname@example.org
AMARILLO -- Amarillo Police were called out at 10 a.m. Monday to the 6800 block of Foothill Drive on an attempted burglary.
The homeowner told police that they were home at the time and heard someone knock on the front door. The homeowner looked out the window but did not recognize the suspect on the porch so they did not answer the door. The suspect then went back to a vehicle that was parked on the street and returned with some type of pry bar. As the suspect was trying to force open the door, the homeowner had reached to unlock the front door to tell the suspect to leave.
While doing this the door was opened and the homeowner and the suspect were standing face to face. The suspect did not enter the house, but immediately turned and ran back to the car and left the area. The suspect left the area in a Gold Buick with partial Tx registration CT2.
This incident remains under investigation.
