AMARILLO -- An Amarillo man indicted for a 2013 bank robbery is not mentally competent to stand trial.
A psychologist has stated in court documents that August Dallas is suffering from a mental illness that keeps him from fully understanding the charges against him and keeps him from assisting his lawyer with his defense.
A grand jury indicted Dallas in May of last year for robbing the Bank of America in the 3600 block of South Washington in April of that year.
An official said a small plane crashed shortly after takeoff.
