AMARILLO -- Early this morning, Amarillo Police responded to an auto burglary that just occurred in the 100 block of N LaSalle.

A witness told police that a white extended cab pickup was prowling the area earlier in the night.

Police soon found the truck several blocks south of the original area. The officer lost sight of the truck but soon found it abandoned at 13th and Rosemont.

Police found a glove and a phone just outside the pickup. As additional officers secured the perimeter, a K-9 officer and his partner tracked the suspects to a backyard and eventually into a shed.

Police arrested 24-year-old Caleb Alexander Jones for Burglary of a Motor Vehicle, Evading Arrest/Detention, and 11 Municipal court warrants with fines totaling $4,897.20.

A radar detector was recovered in the Ford PU that was stolen out of the victim’s car on LaSalle.

Jones was transported and booked in the the Potter County Correction Center.
