Two Retiring, Five Promotions

AMARILLO, TX - The Amarillo Fire Department announced the retirement of two firefighters and the promotion of five more in the month of March.  

Captain Roy Deupree retired after serving the citizens of Amarillo for 25 years. Captain Deupree was assigned to the Aircraft Rescue Firefighting program.  

Lieutenant Chad Higgins retired after serving the citizens of Amarillo for 20 years. Lieutenant Higgins was assigned to the Wildland Firefighting program. 

Lieutenant Cody Snyder promoted to Captain and will remain in the Technical Rescue program. 

Driver Ryan Cox promoted to Lieutenant and is assigned to the EMS program. Cox was previously assigned to the Wildland Firefighting program. 

Driver Jonathan Turney promoted to Lieutenant and is assigned to the EMS program. Turney was previously assigned to the Communications program. 

Firefighter Bobby Grant promoted to Driver and is assigned to the Firefighter Protective Equipment program. Grant was previously assigned to the Pre-emergency Planning program. 

Firefighter Brent Naylor promoted to Driver and is assigned to the EMS program. Naylor was previously assigned to the HAZMAT program.
