Amarillo, Texas -
AMARILLO -- Schools in Amarillo have provided a solution to a problem for schools in Cleburne.
The city was ready to move on from CSCOPE and develop a more specialized program, so they researched the curriculas of other districts around the state to find out what would work.
Amarillo ISD landed in their top three choices, but its staff was easy to work with and had been there before so Cleburne had their pick.
AISD had gone through a similar situation about a decade ago, wanting to completely overhaul what they had.
Amarillo's program was built on getting plenty of input from teachers on what they want, which also works well for the central Texas city.
Cleburne ISD trustees approved the purchase of the program this month and will use it to create their own.
This will save the district time and resources so that it can be ready for the 2014-2015 school year.
The two districts will continue communicating back and forth as Cleburne implements the curriculum. Amarillo ISD may be able to benefit from any ways the program is customized.
