Amarillo Animal Control Adds New "Lost Pets" Search to Website

-
AMARILLO -- Animal Control Interim Director Scott McDonald unveiled a comprehensive new website feature aimed at reuniting the greatest possible number of lost pets with their owners.

The new online search feature allows users to search for their lost dogs and cats by gender, color and breed. Listings also include date and location of pickup, kennel number, case number and, where possible, photographs.

The database used is the most current list of impounded pets at the time it is issued. Animal Control can be contacted about a lost pet directly through that pet’s listing on the website.

Owners have three days to reclaim their pets before those pets become available to the public for adoption.

The goal of the Lost Pets tool is to keep pets in the shelter a minimum amount of time before returning them to their homes and families.
