$631,000 Worth of Marijuana Seized During I-40 Traffic Stop in Carson County

DPS seized 104 pounds of marijuana Saturday after a Texas Highway Patrol Trooper stopped a vehicle traveling east on I-40 in Carson County. 

At 7:46 p.m., a DPS Trooper stopped a 2017 Nissan Sentra for a traffic violation. 

A DPS Canine unit arrived on scene and alerted on the vehicle. 

The Trooper then discovered five large cellophane-wrapped bundles of marijuana in the trunk. The illegal drugs are worth approximately $631,000.

The driver and passenger were arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana. They were both transported and booked into the Carson County jail.

The drugs allegedly were being transported from Los Angeles to Chicago.
