AMARILLO – Early Tuesday morning, Amarillo Police responded to a report of an armed personal robbery in the 400 block of S Mississippi.
When officers arrived, they spoke with the victims. The victims reported that the three suspects walked past them, then returned a few minutes later.
The victims say that one suspect pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at them and demanded the couple’s phone. A second suspect stood in front of the vehicle and raised up their shirt and displayed a pistol that was in their waistband.
Police searched the area with the aid of a K-9 officer and found the suspects in a shed in a backyard in the 200 block of S Virginia.
All three suspects were in the shed along with what turned out to be a black “air-soft” pistol along with three knives.
The victims’ were able positively identify the suspects as being the ones that robbed them.
While officers finished up the initial robbery investigation, another individual approached an officer on patrol in the 800 block of Alabama and reported a personal robbery that occurred earlier.
This victim stated she was walking home from a friend’s house when she was robbed and assaulted by two individuals. One suspect pointed a pistol at her while the other suspect threw her down on the ground. The suspects then stole her purse and fled the area.
The victim positively identified the two individuals that robbed her as being the same as two of the three that were in custody from the other robbery.
Police arrested the juvenile suspects and transported to the Youth Center of the High Plains on charges of Aggravated Robbery.
This case will be forwarded to the Potter County Juvenile Probation Department when complete.
