CLOVIS -- The Clovis Police Department is recruiting for the Clovis Police Explorers Program for the 2014 calendar year.

The 12 month program is for those that are at least 14 years of age, but no older than 18 years of age.

Children will explore many things that involve Law Enforcement, not just police work. Defense and Prosecution attorneys will come in and talk about courtroom procedures. They will also have demonstrations from SWAT, criminal forensics, traffic enforcement, K-9, and emergency driving.

Classroom instruction and practicals will be one evening and one Saturday per month.

Explorers will assist with several events and programs throughout the year.

If anyone is interested in becoming a Police Explorer, please come by the Clovis Police Department and complete an application of interest. Application located at the records division.
