1 Teen Dead, 2 Teens Seriously Injured in Sunday Afternoon Crash in Wheeler County

DPS responded to a one-vehicle crash Sunday on County Road (CR) 4 in Wheeler County, resulting in the death of one person.

At 6:45 p.m.,  15-year-old Kynna Peers, of Mobeetie, was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe south on CR-4, approximately 5 miles northwest of Mobeetie. Peers left the roadway and lost control of the vehicle which caused it to roll over multiple times.

Peers was pronounced dead on scene by Wheeler County Justice of the Peace, Mark Brown.

The a 16-year-old and 18-year-old passengers, both of Mobeetie, were air-lifted to the hospital with serious injuries.

All occupants were wearing their seat belts.

Speed is believed to be the contributing factor to the crash.

The road conditions were dry and no other vehicles were involved.
