AMARILLO -- Nearly 150 people at Wildcat Bluff ran side by side in spirit with soldiers in Iraq. Saturday's Chilly Hilly Half Marathon and 5K was what's called a "shadow run", where military personnel in deployed areas try to run the race at the same time as civilians.

That includes an Army Reserve captain from Pampa deployed in Iraq and his training partner running the race back in Amarillo.

The soldiers running in Iraq were from Al Asad Airbase, about 100 miles west of Baghdad.
