West Texas A&M senior defensive back Torian Oakley, junior running back Geremy Alridge-Mitchell and sophomore kicker Conner Hollabaugh were named D2 Football Honorable Mention All-America.
The Buffs finished the 2014 season with a school-best 37-21 record and went 21-14 in Lone Star Conference play earning a berth in the program’s first LSC championship game.
The doubleheader originally was scheduled for Sunday, but moved up to Saturday due to the new NCAA legislation on start dates. With the chance of inclement weather Friday afternoon and Saturday, Vanderburg moved the games back to Sunday.
WT heads into the game with a 12-8 overall record and 2-4 mark in LSC play. The Greyhounds enter the weekend with a 7-12 overall record and are winless in LSC action at 0-6; however, will be coming off of six days rest.
WT head coach Mark Kellogg is in his second season at WT and is 47-5 at the school.
