The West Texas A&M men’s basketball team will be back in action this Saturday, Feb. 14, for a road rematch against Cameron.
The award comes after Johnson earned an automatic qualifier after breaking the 60m hurdles LSC and school record last weekend at the University of New Collegiate Classic in Albuquerque, N.M.
The Lady Buffs hold a ½ game lead over Cameron in the Lone Star Conference standings as WT is 10-1, while Cameron is 10-2.
The Buffs are 3-2 on the year and have had all five games decided by one run thus far.
WT will send select individuals to compete in the University of New Mexico’s Don Kirby Collegiate Open & Elite Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. and the GVSU Big Meet, hosted by Grand Valley State in Allendale, Mich.WT’s throwers will be traveling to compete in the ASU NCAA Qualifier, hosted by Adams State University in Alamosa, Colo. on Saturday only.
With the win, WT won its 10th-straight game and improved to 19-2 on the year and 10-1 in Lone Star Conference play, while MSU fell to 18-4 and 9-3 in league play.

West Texas A&M head football coach Mike Nesbitt announced the 2015 recruiting class Wednesday on National Signing Day as the Buffs inked 33 players with 19 on offense, 13 on defense and one special teams.
“This is going to be a good tournament with two quality teams in Southern Arkansas and Arkansas-Monticello,” head coach Matt Vanderburg said.
